One captures a group of excited preschoolers preparing to take their next big step into elementary school. The other shows our very first public Pre-K class, years ago on the steps of YFO, full of curiosity, energy, and possibility. Today, those children are graduating high school. For us, this moment is deeply emotional. It is also a reminder of what is possible when communities invest early in children and families. YFO’s partnership with Portland Public Schools has allowed us to work together to create strong foundations and seamless transitions to public school. Public Pre-K is about so much more than school readiness. It is about relationships, belonging, confidence, and giving children the support they need to thrive over time. We know that no single organization can do this work alone. The success of children depends on strong partnerships between schools, early childhood programs, families, community organizations, educators, and supporters like you. When those partnerships are rooted in trust and shared commitment, they can positively influence a child’s trajectory for years to come. As we look at these graduating seniors, we see more than academic achievement. We see resilience, growth, community, and the long-term impact of early investment in children. And as we welcome our newest graduates preparing for kindergarten, we are filled with hope for all that lies ahead for them, too. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
